A Bride’s Interview with Taylor of
Taylor Made Weddings and Events

How long have you been planning weddings and how did you become a planner?
I became a wedding planner almost by chance. I had an established career in Radio and I just wasn’t happy. I decided to take a career test to see jobs that may fit my personality traits. Wedding planning came up. I have always enjoyed planning events, coordinating parties and adding special small details for events since I was a little kid. It seemed the perfect fit. I’m not one to jump into anything without providing the best quality in what I do so I took a few certification courses on planning and began working for a planning company. I decided to branch out on my own with Taylor Made Weddings and Events a little over a year ago and its been uphill from there!
I love what I’ve seen of your services and portfolios, but can you tell me what sets you apart from all the other planners out there?
Well our name kind of says it all. The events I aid in planning are Taylor Made to fit each bride. I don’t believe in cookie cutter weddings and I take pride in helping create weddings that are completely personalized.
I believe my motto or slogan for Taylor Made fits perfectly as well. I do best when helping brides looking for simple, elegant and natural weddings. By that I mean weddings with simple but elegant ambiance and with naturalist element incorporated.
This all sounds wonderful but it also seems expensive, are we going to be able to afford this?
I’ve worked with all types of brides with all sizes of budgets. The beauty of weddings Taylor Made to fit your needs and personality is that everything we do can be made to fit within your budget. And that’s part of what I do, I help keep you on budget while creating the event of your dreams.
Who do you work best with? Who doesn’t benefit from your help planning a wedding?
I work best with brides looking to incorporate natural elements into their design, with brides who are looking to have fun planning as well as on their wedding day. Brides who dont trust me to do what they’ve hired me for are those I don’t work best with. I want to gain a trust and friendship with my brides and I want my brides to be stress free and happy. We have a budget and we’ll come in under it.
Will I lose control of my wedding if you are planning it for me?
No. I sometimes feel that the word planner is wrong for what I do. It’s more like I’m a planning assistant or partner. I work with you to create your dream event. We make it to fit you, the bride and groom. We create each event to fit each couples taste, hobbies, and personalities. I can’t create your dream wedding without you!
What happens if you are sick or can’t, for some reason, make the wedding?
If for some reason I cannot make it to the wedding, I will find a suitable replacement for myself and my services. If I am unable to locate a replacement, I will then give you back a reasonable percentage of what you’ve already paid for.
Will you have staff at the wedding?
Yes. I always have at least one assistant at your wedding. Depending on your weddings size, I will have more.
Will you work with the vendors I’ve already found and want to work with?
Of course! I’m always on the lookout for new vendors to work with and if you’ve found them and love them, I am more than happy to work with them in creating your special day.
Do you take credit cards and can we have a payment plan?
I do take credit cards. For your convenience, your card can be swiped on site on my phone or via Paypal. My contracts already have a payment plan within them so it isn’t hard to adjust and create a payment plan to fit your needs!
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes I do.
Do you take more than one wedding per day?
Never. My focus is on you and your big day. I will never spread myself or my staff thin. We are here for you 100 %.
This sounds like everything we’ve been looking for, what happens next to start the process of booking you?
The next step is to set up an appointment for my complimentary 3D consult. I use this consult to define your needs, see if we are a good match, and decide which packages I offer that fit your budget and needs.
May we contact some of your former clients to get a feel for what it’s like to work with you?
Of course! In fact on my website, I have a few testimonials you can feel free to look over.
I have a couple more questions before getting started; can I call you to discuss this further?
Yes. In fact, I highly encourage and require my clients to participate in the Taylor Made weddings and events complimentary 3D consult. The consult is a time to answer all remaining questions, become further acquainted and see if we are a good fit. You may set up appointment with me now or after seeing which time works best for you and your fiancée, you may call me at 801.810.MADE (6233) or email me at taymadeweddings@yahoo.com
