Today I am very excited to share a fun wedding luncheon we were able to be a part of. Raleigh and Will were lovely and it was great to get to know and work with Will’s  family, as they were the ones hosting the luncheon. Working with Hank and Cristen was such a joy and the luncheon was designed to have the same runners and simple wild flower centerpieces of those at the reception. One of my favorite parts was the pinwheel send off that sent Raleigh and Will into the rest of their lives! (for more send off ideas- click here)  It really completed and finished out the three day wedding celebration with complimenting style and grace. The amazing food and venue was provided by Chef Imi of Riverwalk Grill in St George Utah-An amazing venue and Chef with the best food in Southern Utah. There are so many ways to incorporate poms into your wedding- Aisle decor, hanging above tables, as part of the centerpieces or as a send off. The great thing about poms are they come in or can be made in all different sizes, textures and colors! I particularly love the photo below of the poms in the aisle- gorgeous! Poms will make a beautiful addition and send off at your wedding!

Bubble send offs are an inexpensive and traditional send off. Many reception centers restrict rice, flower petals and birdseed, so bubbles have become a great alternative. The key is to present the bottles in a cute and new way. And make sure you have a great photographer to capture the sheen of the bubbles!

A balloon release is a great way to send off the couple as they leave to start the rest of their lives together. Balloons are also easy to incorporate into other aspects of your wedding-  the can be used as ceremony aisle decor, lining an entry path to your event or event be suspended above your tables! Balloons also  incorporate your wedding colors in an easy, bright and playful way.

Streamers and/or Ribbon wands are a beautiful and safe alternative to sparklers. If you are leaving in daylight, sparklers are out and ribbons are in! You can find that blog here. Today’s post is all about Paper Airplanes as a fun and eco friendly send off from your wedding.

Paper airplanes are a fun send off, but its not meant for everyone.  Your send off is just that! The send off to the rest of your life. Be sure to choose something that fits you as a couple, not just something that is a trend.  Do you two travel a lot?  Are one of, or both of you in the Air Force? There are many reasons to do this send off at your wedding, just be sure its fitting.

One thing I love about Paper Airplanes, is that they are cute and eco friendly! Many send offs include multiple items to be thrown, held, waved or tossed that afterwards just get thrown away. You can keep your wedding green by having a recycling bin handy for whomever cleans up the planes after they’ve been thrown. and you’ve been sent on your way to your honeymoon!

Today’s blog and the coming week’s blogs will be all about send off ideas for your wedding day! So to Start off the Series with a spark, lets take a look at sparklers!

Sparklers are a great and common wedding send off. No matter how much they’ve been done, they still have such a fun feel to start off the rest of your lives together! You can present them in so many unique ways, like the find your perfect match photo below or as favors. We’ve seen cool sparkler wedding designs- such as the word love spelled out in sparkler or like the photo below- sparklers have been used to create a beautiful glow around the couple.

Before you decide to have sparklers as your send off though be sure of a few things-

1- Make sure the venue allows the use of sparklers. Some venues have dry landscaping and may not allow the use of them due to fire hazard. Some Venues may also be historical and not allow sparklers.

2- Be sure to have someone to light the sparklers before you come out. Have lighters or matches on hand.

3-  Also be sure to have at least two pails or vases of water for guests to “put out” the sparkler in. The last thing you need is a garbage can lighting on fire, dry grass catching on fire from some one carelessly leaving a still smoking sparkler around or guests wondering where to put the sparklers once done. Avoid the smoking and heat’s potential for hazard and have water on hand.

4- Lastly, Also consider the fabric of your dress. Small piece of ash may fall on it as you run through the sparklers- Those hot pieces of ash may burn small holes, cause bubbling or make singe marks on your dress.
